Light Project Peterborough has its roots in the work of Revd. Chris Duffett, street evangelist, artist, Baptist minister and founder of The Light Project in Chester back in 2000.
Chris came to Peterborough in 2010 following God’s call on his life and established Peterborough City Centre Chaplaincy in partnership with Churches Together in Central Peterborough. Working with a small team of volunteers the Chaplaincy team has sought to engage with local businesses and shoppers through a range of creative outreach including acts of kindness, prayer, prophetic evangelism and relationship building.
In October 2012, Chris was joined by Sue Hensby – a student on placement whilst studying for an FdA in Theology and Evangelism
with the Light Project. It quickly became clear that God was calling Sue to move to Peterborough to serve alongside Chris, which she did in July 2013. Their shared vision saw the formal setting up of Light Project Peterborough.
Light Project Peterborough became a fully registered charity in January 2015 (Reg: 1159764) With a dedicated team of Trustees and amazing volunteers from a variety of denominations we seek to 'Reveal Jesus'
through a range of innovative projects serving the people of Peterborough.
